Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) & platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) GEL
What is PRF Gel and how does it work?
This innovative, natural treatment uses your blood's growth factors to stimulate collagen production, reduce wrinkles, and restore lost volume, resulting in a refreshed and youthful appearance. A small sample of your blood is drawn and processed in a specialized centrifuge to isolate the PRF. This PRF is then transformed into a gel-like substance and strategically injected into targeted areas of the face, such as around the eyes, cheeks, and nasolabial folds. The PRF gel acts as a natural filler, restoring volume, smoothing lines and wrinkles while promoting long-term skin rejuvenation.

What are the benefits of PRF Gel?
-
Natural: Uses your own blood, eliminating the risk of allergic reactions.
-
Stimulates Collagen: Promotes long-term skin health and firmness.
-
Restores Volume: Fills in wrinkles and hollow areas for a more youthful contour.
-
Improves Skin Texture: Enhances skin tone and reduces the appearance of imperfections.
-
Long-Lasting Results: Effects can last for several months, or even more.
-
Minimal Downtime: Most patients experience only mild swelling or bruising that subsides quickly.
Is PRF Gel right for you?
PRF Gel is an excellent option for men and women seeking a natural and effective way to address:
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
-
Loss of facial volume
-
Uneven skin texture
-
Acne scars
What is the difference between PRF and PRP?
While both PRF and PRP utilize your own blood's platelets for rejuvenation, they differ in their preparation and composition. PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) involves a process that results in a high concentration of platelets in plasma. PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) uses a gentler centrifugation, leading to a fibrin matrix that contains platelets, growth factors, and white blood cells. This fibrin matrix allows for a slower, more sustained release of growth factors, potentially providing longer-lasting results. PRF is a better option if your main goal is restoring volume.
In which areas can I apply PRF Gel?
-
Under eyes
-
Cheeks
-
Nasolabial folds
-
Forehead
-
Jawline
-
Areas of scaring.
Can I treat under-eye hollows or dark circles with PRF Gel?
Yes, PRF Gel is a very effective treatment for under-eye hollows and dark circles. The growth factors in PRF can help stimulate collagen production, thickening the skin and reducing the appearance of dark circles and hollows.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Either injected or applied during a microneedling procedure, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is one of the best treatments to rejuvenate the skin and give you a natural, healthy look.
What is PRP?
Blood is made up of four components: plasma, red cells, white cells and platelets. Platelets are in charge of clotting blood and they contain a great amount of what is called growth factors. These growth factors are essential for healing injuries in the human body.

During a PRP procedure, a health professional has to draw blood from the patient. The blood is stored in sterile glass tubes and put into a centrifuge machine which separates the blood components and increases the concentration of platelets. Therefore, the PRP preparation which is used in the procedure has a higher number of growth factors than usual.

How is PRP applied?
At Drops of Beauty, we offer two procedures which incorporate Plasma Rich Platelets (PRP): injections and microneedling.

Injections are the most efficient way to reincorporate the PRP into your skin. The procedure can be done in the entire face, in the neck, in both, or in specific areas which the patient wants to treat. This treatment is often called a “vampire facelift.”

Microneedling is a procedure in which the skin is punctured with a device that contains tiny, sterile needles. The treatment creates microscopic channels which stimulate the skin’s natural ability to regenerate itself, and produce collagen and elastin. In traditional microneedling procedures, aestheticians apply hyaluronic acid, but adding the PRP preparation to the procedure greatly increases its efficacy, it is like applying your very own serum. This treatment is often called a “vampire facial.”
As PRP is a natural product created from your own blood there is technically no chance of presenting a reaction against it.

What can I expect after a PRP procedure?
Your skin can be swollen and red for up to 1-2 days in the case of injections and 3-4 days in the case of microneedling. Individual reactions may vary.

When do you see results with PRP treatments?
Results will begin to appear after 3-4 weeks and will improve with time. PRP is not like a filler which gives you immediate results, PRP works with your own body’s healing capacity to regenerate itself. Nonetheless, PRP is a great addition to many of the fillers that we offer at Drops of Beauty Anti-Aging Medical Spa.

How many treatments will I need?
Although you can obtain results since the first treatment, our specialists recommend getting three PRP procedures, each one four weeks apart, to see the best results. Afterwards, we generally recommend one yearly maintenance session.
